Best Friend Ever!
As I said, Harry was my best friend growing up in Littleton, Colorado. Harry was one of those people that was there for you whenever you needed him. For most of the people that knew him he seemed shy and quiet but he made up for in oh so many ways! For one, Harry was short in height (approx 5' 1") but he was very muscled. In HS he lettered in gymnastics wrestling and track. In his Freshman year he was elected as student class president and of course very popular. In my junior year my family moved to California where I subsequently decided to go into the US Army.
Actually, not knowing it at the time, I was leaving Harry's life at a very bad time.
In the week "prior" to the Kennedy assassination, Harry's world apparently spun apart and Harry chose to end his life.
Even today, 58 years later, all I can do is regret that I couldn't have there for him the way that he had been there for me and so many others. I have been told that "you" have forgiven me Harry, but I just hope that "I" can someday forgive you! I Love You Harry!
