He had two sisters, Frieda and August Ruth Trattner. A veteran of the United States Army, Harold served during World War II, entering the Army in December of 1942 and being discharged in December of 1945. Harold Trattner married Shirley Frieda Baris (1924 - 2010) on January 20, 1948 in New York City. They had two daughters.
