    A United States Navy veteran of World War II, Harold served as an MM3. And MM3 was a Machinist's Mate Third Class. The Machinist's Mate (MM) rating was responsible for the operation and maintenance of various machinery aboard ships, including engines, turbines, and other mechanical systems. The rating system used in the U.S. Navy during World War II included different classes (e.g., MM1, MM2, MM3) to denote the rank and level of experience of individuals within a particular rating. The MM3 would have been the third level within the Machinist's Mate rating hierarchy.

    According to his 1946 World War II draft card, Harold was Caucasian, and 6 feet tall. He weighed 160 pounds. He had brown eyes and brown hair, with a "ruddy" complexion.
