Harry Melvin Auchmoody was born to James C. Auchmoody (1858 - 1914) and Mary Van Wagenen (1855 - 1937). Both parents were born in New York. He had sisters Anna Mary, Ada, and Armantha Y. Auchmoody. Harry Auchmoody married Florence Hope Allen (born 1893) on January 6, 1919, in Poughkeepsie, New York. They didn't have children. A native of New Paltz, New York, Harry was raised in Esopus City, New York and as an adult lived in Poughkeepsie, New York. In his 30s, he moved to Long Island City, New York and he died in Long Island City at the age of 82.
