I think this was the happiest day of his life. He always wanted a son but he got 2 daughters and then 2 granddaughters! This is a picture of my dad with my SON Lucas, I’ve never seen him so delighted! My son was born in July of 2002, so I’m guessing this is the winter of 2002.

Harvey Gilburd was my father. He didn’t have an easy adult life after serving in the Korean War. I truly believe he had PTSD before anyone even knew what it was. Regardless of what he had gone through he loved my mother, my sister and I dearly. I don’t have a lot of information on his family, but what I do have I’ll be happy to share. There was a time when we thought that there was not another family in the world with the last name Gilburd. It’s nice to see that that wasn’t the case and maybe I’ll learn some of my father’s history.
