DAVENPORT -- Services for Harvey R. "Bud" Morris, Davenport, will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries All Faith Chapel, Davenport. Private family burial will be later. Visitation is noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Morris died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, after an extended illness. Bud worked many years at Ralston-Purina Co., retiring in 1992. Harvey Roy Morris was born Oct. 7, 1929, in Waukesha, Wis., the son of Lester R. and Gladys R. (Williams) Morris. He married Polly Donelson on March 6, 1949, in Davenport. He married Sharon Lane on March 7, 1969, in Aledo, Ill. He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, or AARP. His greatest love was his family. Bud was very active as a dad and grandfather, from fishing, hunting and camping trips with his children and grandchildren to coaching fast pitch softball at the junior high school level. Bud always enjoyed working with and watching his family participate in athletics and the outdoors. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; his children and their spouses, Janice and Kenny Orndoff, Birmingham, Iowa, Bruce and Denise Morris, Davenport, Elaine Murphy and Deb Padula of Massachusetts, Susan and Jeff Dickinson, Brighton, Iowa, Allen and Lori Morris, Batavia, Iowa, Jeff Morris, Davenport, Jamie and Kevin Meier, Davenport, Jodie and Randy Bennett, Edgington, Ill., and Julie Lane, Davenport; 26 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Sisters, Ruby Murphy, Stafford, Texas, and Ivy McClurg, Centerville, Iowa; brothers, Marvin Morris, Centerville, Iowa, and Lyle Morris, Fresno, Calif.; and a very special friend, Keith Mayfield, Davenport, further survive him. His parents and a brother, Douglas Morris, preceded him in death. May they rest in peace.
