    Harvey William Moelke was born on May 23, 1917 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA to biological parents William August Carl Moelke (1897-1981) and Clara Moelke (1905-1973). His step mother was Bertha Dubleman (1893-1973). He had siblings William Harold Moelke (1925-1986), a sister, and a half brother Raymond Bojnowski (1928-1990). He grew up and lived most of his life in Detroit where he worked as a shipping and receiving clerk and also worked as a Life Insurance Agent in his 30's. In 1940, at the age of 23, he registered for the draft in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. He listed his employer as Detroit Steel Products and his next of kin as William Moelke. At the time of his registration, he was 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighed 155 pounds, had a light complexion, brown hair, and blue eyes. On August 2, 1941 he married Lenore Betty Yates (1920–2009) in Henry, Ohio, USA. The couple had 6 children together including Joanne Elizabeth Moelke (1945-), Janis Kay Moelke (1947-2020), and James Harvey Moelke (1950-2011). About a month after getting married, on September 25, 1941, Harvey enlisted in the United States Army in Detroit, Michigan. He joined the Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, USA, as a part of the Selectees (Enlisted Men) component. He served in the Army until November 13, 1945, when he was discharged from the military.

    MOELKE, HARVEY WIL.LIAM, 73, of Holiday, died Tuesday (Dec. 25, 1990) at home. Born in Detroit, he came here nine years ago from Brighton, Mich. He was an insurance broker and real estate agent. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Port Richey, and an elder at Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church, Livonia, Mich. He was a World War Il Air Force veteran, a member of the Society of Residential Appraisers, past president of Bailey's Bluff Civic Association, Holiday, and a member of Moose Lodge 1429, Tarpon Springs, Aripeka Elks Lodge 2520, Hudson, and Eagles Lodge 3153, New Port Richey. Survivors include his wife, Bette L.; a son, James, Brighton; four daughters, Joan Dawes, Holiday, Janis Katz, Brighton, Gwen Dem-ing, East Lansing, Mich., and Sharon Butler, Hudson; a sister, Shirley Boynowski, Sterling Heights, Mich.; and 13 grandchildren.
