Heinz Wolfgang Scholl was born in 1934 and lived as a high official in Troisdorf near Bonn until his death in May 2022.   His father and the father of the Scholl siblings -Hans & Sophie Scholl, who were executed on February 22, 1943 for resisting the Nazi system, were his cousins whom, he was never allowed to meet. He was still a child at the time. Nevertheless, these events strongly influenced the development of his own political consciousness.

Heinz Wolfgang Scholl was born in 1934 and lived as a high official in Troisdorf near Bonn until his death in May 2022.   His father and the father of the Scholl siblings -Hans & Sophie Scholl, who were executed on February 22, 1943 for resisting the Nazi system, were his cousins whom, he was never allowed to meet. He was still a child at the time. Nevertheless, these events strongly influenced the development of his own political consciousness. After his retirement, he turned to volunteer work in the Protestant church. In his parish, the Protestant Friedenskirchengemeinde Troisdorf, he held the office of presbyter. He was also press spokesman and coordinated the congregation's public relations work. There, among other things, he founded a discussion group for retirees and pensioners, whose participants met on the third Thursday of each month in the community center of the Kreuzkirche in Troisdorf-Sieglar to discuss - usually on the basis of an expert lecture - current issues in politics, economics, society and religion. Finally, he collaborated on the publication of the community newsletter KONTAKT. Volunteer work in the Protestant church enables him to contribute to the promotion of the common good within the limits of his abilities and to translate the Christian principles of life into practical action.   Furthermore, he wrote essays about experiences on trips, exhibitions or other events. Writing gave him the opportunity to shape language and enjoy beautiful formulations. Due to his professional background as a civil servant, who had to provide written explanations - albeit usually on dry subjects - throughout his professional life, there was hardly any alternative for him, even in retirement, than to continue working with the pen.
