Helen Emma (Stauffer) Weitzel was born on July 16, 1927 in Willow Grove, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania United States to Esther Mildred Stauffer and Leon Paul Stauffer Sr., and had siblings Leon Paul Stauffer Jr., Stanley Herbert Stauffer Sr., Walter Harold Stauffer, Charles Kenneth Stauffer, and Clara Camille Galzinski. She married Kermit Richard Weitzel on September 11, 1948 in Willow Grove, Montgomery County, and they were married until Kermit's death on December 26, 2014 at Harborview Rehabilitation and Care Center at Doylestown 432 Maple Avenue, in Doylestown, Bucks County. She had children Kenneth Richard Weitzel, Lori Ann Barrett, and Richard Kenneth Weitzel. Helen Weitzel died at age 92 years old on February 19, 2020 at Harborview Rehabilitation and Care Center at Doylestown 432 Maple Ave, in Doylestown, Bucks County, and was buried on February 24, 2020 at Beulah Cemetery 238 Almshouse Rd, in New Britain.

    Helen E. Weitzel of New Britain died peacefully on Wednesday,February 19,2020 at Harborview in Doylestown. She was 92. Born in Willow Grove,PA she was the beloved wife of the late Kermit Richard Weitzel,the loving mother of the late Kenneth Weitzel,proud grandmother of the Taylor M. Barrett,the daughter of the late Leon and Esther Rutherford Stauffer and the mother-in-law of the late Tami Weitzel. Helen shared 66 years of blissful marriage to her high school sweetheart Kermit. She was a Drum Majorette for Abington High School and she also was a talented clarinet performer and pianist. Helen was proud of working for over ten years with the Fresh Air Fund of Bucks County and she cherished being a loving and devoted wife,mother,grandmother and great-grandmother. Helen will be greatly missed,but eternally loved by everyone who has had the distinct honor and privilege of being loved by her. Helen is survived by her loving and devoted children; Lori Barrett and her husband William of Hillsborugh,NJ and Richard Weitzel of Ottsville,PA. She is also survived by five loving grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday,February 24,2020 from 11:00 A.M. until her Funeral Service 12:30 P.M. in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home,241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.)New Britain,PA 18901. Her interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery in New Britain. In lieu of flowers,contributions in her memory may be made to the Bucks County SPCA PO Box 277 Lahaska,PA 18931.
