Helen Moates Craven born April 21, 1909 passed away December 8, 1993 at Newberry County Hospital. Helen was predeceased by her husband John Ellis Craven Sr. She was a retired employee of Greenwood Mills/ Joanna plant. She was of the Megiddo religion, enjoyed quilting,sewing,and gardening. She was predeceased by one son, Richard Carlisle Craven, Phoenix Arizona. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ruth Craven King of Clinton SC, Derrill Edward Craven of Blanchard OK, Jerry Ned Craven of Greenville SC, since her passing two sons are deceased. John Ellis Craven Jr. of Gaffney SC, and WIlliam Dowling Craven of Newberry SC. She is survived by 16 grandchildren 21 great grandchildren and since her passing two great great grandchildren are deceased. Siblings: Harold Moates, GW Moates and Pet Moates Jr. of Joanna SC, Wilbur Moates, Frank Moates and Pope Moates, Mildred Moates, Wilhelmina Moates, Anna Belle Moates. Her parents were Pet Moates SR. and Irene Moates.
