I am the younger son of two. Dennis is my name.Helen my mother raised me and my older brother in one of Philadelphia's tuff neighborhood's. My father Stephen just up and left and never looked back when I was only 6 yrs old. After that my mothers older sister and younger sister tried to convince her to give us up to Boys Town thinking my mother could not raise us.
Little did they know of her. My mother raised me and my brother by holding down two job's. I want to mention Geoerge the last born, my godfather /uncle who helped his sister my mother out alot with his wife Emily also my godmother. Three sisiters and brother all lived on the same block 3800 Wyalusing Avenue with their family. When George and Emily moved it got real bad for the other 2 sisters. I don't want to draw this out but here it goes. All were scared to death of the change ..whites moving out blacks moving in. My mother got along with everyone who respected her for taking care of me and my brother without a father. This is funny when my brother and cousin Ronald got into trouble with the blacks, who came to their rescue me. I was the peacemaker in this part of the hood with alot of respect. from, 6 -13yrs old . I shinned Nate King Cole's shoes in his bar/club on 40th and Poplar. It's still there with the original neon sign with his name on it till this day 05/2013.
Aunt Marge and Irene urged or should say tricked my mother into selling her house so Marge could have enought money with the sale of her home to move up to the "Great Northest Philadelphia", Knight's and Woodhaven . At the time I was doing great in school, St Thomas Moore, great with the Italians and Negeros making money and keeping peace between them. Everyone in the hood had great expectations of me. All this came to an end when my mother agreed to sell her house and move in with her sister. I did not like the idea because I had this deep feeling that it would not work out and I was only 13 and my feeling's always played out. Marge had 2 children, Carol and Ronald . Carol was married to William McTeague with child and Ronald was in the Airforce at Tule, Greenland . My brother was in the Army (He meet Elivis Presely) stationed in Germany. Carol had her kid, my mother and I were kicked out so Carol, William and baby could move in. We lived there for only about 21/2 years. Like to add this Marge said to my mother you can't sent him to Father Judge because it was a tuition school. I went to Lincoln High School which changed my destiny..Marge changed my destiny as to be crazy gangster I am today. If I stayed in the hood I would only have been a gangster with
respect and diginity of my 360.
I love you and think of you everyday and when I'll be seeing you once again..
Your Loving Son
