Henrietta Teresa Dwyer of Pakenham, Vic Australia was born in 1902 in Fosterville to John Dwyer and Annie Teresa (Obrien) Dwyer. She had siblings Sarah Irene Dwyer, Percy Lelsie Pat Dwyer, Ernt William Dwyer, Mary Margaret Dwyer, Percy Leslie Patrick Dwyer, Kathleen Dwyer, Annie Dorothy Dwyer, Cyril James Dwyer, Thomas Fairbairn Dwyer, and John Augustine Dwyer. Henrietta Dwyer died at age 72 years old in August 1975.

In 1902, in the year that Henrietta Teresa Dwyer was born, the world famous Italian tenor, Enrico Caruso, made the first gramophone recording by a popular singer. Accompanied by only a piano, his voice recordings became a big seller and did much to popularize the new-fangled gramophone. He had to sing into a metal "horn" that relayed his voice to a metal disc. And the songs had to be under 4 and a half minutes!
