Note: Although Social Security Records say 1901, his World War II draft card says 1902, as does his headstone. Henry married Mary Agnes Hopkins (1922 - 1982) and they had sons Richard, James, Goerge, Milton and Douglas and daughters Bertha, Gloria, Wanda and Joyce. He was survived by his stepson, James, 43 grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Chemist and engineer Alfred Nobel, who died in 1896, had provided in his will for prizes in physics, chemistry, and physiology or medicine, who have produced the most distinguished literary work of an idealist tendency, and who have contributed the most toward world peace. The winners in 1901 were: Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen for physics, Jacobus Henricus van't Hoff for chemistry, Emil Adolf von Behring for physiology or medicine, Sully Prudhomme for literature, and Jean Henry Dunant and Frédéric Passy for peace.

In 1916, at the age of just 15 years old, Henry was alive when the U.S. National Park Service - part of the Department of the Interior - was created by an act of Congress in August.
