Henry Ernest Belfrage 1841 - 1928

Henry Ernest Belfrage was born in 1841. He was in a relationship with Jane (Laidlaw) Belfrage, and had children Anne Elise Belfrage, John Laidlaw Belfrage, Ernest Albert Belfrage, and Alexander Percy Belfrage. Henry Belfrage died at age 86 years old in August 1928 in Yarraville, City of Maribyrnong County, VIC Australia, and was buried at Footscray Cemetery in Yarraville.

  • Introduction

    The Argus, Melbourne. Saturday 11th August 1928. The death occurred at his residence, Yarraville, on Thursday night, of Mr. Harold Belfrage, who was president of the Victorian branch of the Seamen's Union for 10 years, and secretary of the branch for 30 years. He was also a foundation member of the union. Mr. Belfrage who was aged 87 years, was actively associated with the 1890 maritime strike, which had it's object the eviction of the Chinese crews from Australian coastal vessels.

BELFRAGE. - On the 9th August, at his residence, 12 Blanche-street, Yarraville, Henry, the dearly beloved husband of Jenny Belfrage, and loving father of Robert, John, Ernest, George, Jessie ( Mrs. H. Stitt ), Bella ( Mrs. R. A. Alderdice ), and Alexander, aged 87 year. At rest.
