Henry's father was Samuel Griff, 1864 - 1924, who was born in Ukraine, and his mother was Ethel (Roffman) Griff, 1876-1947, born in Kiva Kabernia, Russia. They had children Morris, Harry, Lina/Lena, Fanny, Fay, Herman, Hyman, Louis, William, and Lillian. Henry also had half-siblings? In the 1930 Federal census, the family was living in Essex NJ. Head of household was (Henry's brother) Morris. Harry, Fay, Herman, William (all siblings) and Ethel (mother) were also in the household. Henry was a salesman in a clothing store. Everyone but Morris and Ethel were working. He was 5' 4 1/2", 128 lbs, had brown eyes and hair and a light complexion. On his WW2 draft registration card, Henry said his full name was "Fred Henry Griff". His brother William was listed as next of kin. Henry said he was living in NYC and William was living in New Rochelle. Henry wasn't working. He married Cora Lee Vise (Roffman) Griff 1917 - 2005, born in Texas, and they had 3 daughters. In the 1950 federal census, Henry was living in Houston TX with wife Lee, daughters Penelope, Sandra, and Pamela and brother Harry. The first 2 daughters were married in Mass. and the last daughter was born in Connecticut. Henry was a sales manager at a magazine.
