Henry Walser died at age 71 years old on January 19, 1954 in Wheeler.

    H.H. Walser, a 50-year resident of this area, passed away here early Tuesday morning after an illness of several months. However, the incident which caused his passing probably was his falling in his home here early last Wednesday morning of last week. Mr. Walser received a broken leg in the fall at his home. Henry Halcomb Walser was born in Montague County, Texas, on August 2, 1883 and passed away at Wheeler, January 19, 1954, at 7:00 a.m. at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 17 days. Mr. Walser was a retired farmer and merchant and had served as Commissioner of Precinct No. 2 a few years back. He was a member of the Methodist Church here. Funeral services for Mr. Walser were held at the Wheeler Methodist Church, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. O.A. McBrayer, assisted by Rev. M.B. Smith officiating. Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery with Kirk-Mason Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers were Olin Pendleton, Harvey Patterson, Johnnie Reed, Comer Reed, John Baird, Dorsey Hutchison, Billie J. Darnell and Aubrey Pond. Named as honorary pall bearers were: Ben Wofford, George Henderson, Frank Noah, Cliff Bradstreet, Charlie Sandifer, Levi Reid, Marvin Bradstreet and Ira Passons. Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Leola Walser of Wheeler; five daughters, Mrs. Fay Patterson of Wheeler, Mrs. Gladys Oglesby of Wheeler, Mrs. Ida Mae Anglin of Wheeler, Mrs. Vaudie Briley of Amarillo, Mrs. Fannie Henderson of Borger; one son, Buster Walser of Wheeler; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; five brothers, T.L. Walser of Chillicothe, W.E. Walser of Canadian, S.L. and Charlie Walser of Hereford; and four sisters, Mrs. Ella Jenkins of Pomona, Calif., Mrs. W.A. Golightly of Wellington, Mrs. Della Smith of Amarillo, and Mrs. May Baker of Sudan. His parents and 2 brothers preceded him in death. (Published in The Wheeler Times, January 21, 1954)
