Henry Studd of Amphitheatre, Pyrenees Shire County, VIC Australia was born on April 26, 1865 in Amphitheatre to Victoria Isabella Spurgeon and George Charles Studd. He had siblings James Charles Gibb Studd, Robert Arthur Studd, Alice Amelia (Studd) Voas, Frederick Studd, Edward Studd, Walter Studd, Willie Spurgeon Studd, Elizabeth Ann (Studd) Goldsmith, and George William Studd. Henry Studd married Victoria Isabelle (Spurgeon) in Aug in Victoria, and died at age 88 years old in 1953.

In 1865, in the year that Henry Studd was born, on December 24th, 8 months after the end of the Civil War, the Ku Klux Klan was formed in Pulaski, Tennessee by Jonathan Shank and Barry Ownby. They wanted to fight Reconstruction after the Civil War and to intimidate what were called "carpetbaggers" and "scalawags" - northern and southern whites who supported reconstruction. They also wanted to repress the newly freed slaves.

In 1883, at the age of 18 years old, Henry was alive when on July 4th, the first rodeo in the world was held in Pecos, Texas - according to its citizens. In the towns of Prescott and Payson Arizona, the same claim is made. All of these were gatherings of local cowboys, showing off their skills - no matter who was first.
