He married Elva Leone (Newbold) Stacher on May 10, 1924 in Gallup, NM, and had children Carol (Stacher) Hail and Vilma Louise (Stacher) Ohlen. Herbert Stacher died at age 97 years old on January 3, 1999 in Albuquerque, Bernalillo Co County, NM, and was buried in January 1999 at Mountainair Cemetery in Mountainair, Torrance Co County.
