    Herbert Eugene “Gene” Sharps is the child of Natalie Primoff (1906-1990) and Alexander "Alex" Sharps (1901=1984). He was born on November 1, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He had siblings Harry Albert (1925-1989) and Violet Natalie Sharps (1933-2019). They were raised in Philadelphia. He married Patricia I O'Brien (1930-2010) in May of 1952 in Newfield, Gloucester County, New Jersey and they had two daughters, Beverly Sharps Muller and Donna Mascieri. The family lived in Bridgeton. Gene was a self-employed food service proprietor in the Bridgeton area and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. “Gene” Sharps passed away on July 26, 1996 in Bridgetown, New Jersey.

    Gene Sharps, 66, of Bridgeton died Friday evening at home. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Sharps lived in Bridgeton for the last 44 years. He was a self-employed food service proprietor in the Bridgeton area. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Patricia (O'Brien); two daughters, Beverly Sharps Muller of Sea Isle City and Donna Mascieri of Marlton; a sister, Violet Horner of Sicklerville; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Freitag Funeral Home. Burial be at the convenience of the family, Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday, one hour before the services. Published in the Daily Journal Newspaper (Vineland, New Jersey) on Monday July 29, 1996.
