He had 3 siblings, Nettie (born 1907), Morris (1915-1916), and Bernard (1916-1991). He grew up in Manhattan, New York City, New York and Brooklyn, Kings, New York. On March 7, 1940 he married Harriet Charlotte Weltfisch Resnik German (1917-1999) in Alexandria, Virginia. They later divorced in 1945, and he remarried on April 30, 1945 to Eula Lee Barker Resnik (1921-2005) in Hillisborough Co., Florida. Herman Resnik passed away on July 1, 1974 in New York City, New York.
