Hershel R Petrey of Indianapolis, Marion County, IN was born on September 10, 1935. She was married to Novella Elizabeth (Lingier) Petrey and they later divorced. She had children Nancy Hope Evelyn (Petrey) Harkness, Kenny Petrey, Linda (Petrey) Moore, Scott Petrey, Luanne (Petrey) Bishop, and Mark Petrey. Hershel Petrey died at age 58 years old on December 27, 1993.

  • Introduction

    He died, due to the chemicals he was exposed to in Alaska. He had had polio as a child. He walked with a limp. Never saw war. Retired vet became a Pepsi factory worker. Married novella, when she was 13 and helped raise thier six children. They divorced and remarried several times. He had a conviction that lead to him serving weekends in jail. Will not give details. The last Thanksgiving was epic. His lil brother came to see him. He had family all around!! This man had helped raised me from 4months on to 8yrs old. Uncle Scott and I, Rebecca had great memories living during this time together. He would give me "sweethearts for his favorite sweetheart" as he'd say. He had false teeth, which he used to frighten me to brush my teeth, it worked. He was tall and very skinny. He passed just after Christmas. He is missed but never forgotten.
