Herta Grinbergs, born Plesums was born in Riga, Latvia, in Plesums Family. She had twin brother Harijs. Their father died when they were less than 2 years old. Their mother Antonija married with Janis Ezergailis on 1928. He adopted the children.
On 1944 in the end of the War Herta with relatives left Latvia as refugees and unfortunately was separated from family. Her parents stayed in Latvia, but brother was deported to Siberia.
Since fifties she lived in New York and married with Grinbergs, the editor of Latvian newspaper Laiks for long years. After the death of her husband she left NY and resettled to San Diego.
She has son Dags.
