Hilda Amelia (Hovey) Hauser was born in 1904 to John Hovey and Charlotte (Parker) Hovey, and had siblings Edith (Hovey) Kinloch, John Hovey, Caroline Constance (Hovey) Scollary, and Charlotte Ann Hovey. She married Conrad George Hauser, and died at age 51 years old in 1955. Hilda Hauser was buried at Fawkner Memorial Park 1187 Sydney Rd, in Hadfield, City of Moreland County, VIC Australia.

In 1915, she was just 11 years old when the Superior Court in Fulton County Georgia accepted the charter for the establishment of the new Ku Klux Klan, succeeding the Klan that flourished in the South in the late 1800's. This iteration of the Klan adopted white clothing and used many of the code words from the first Klan, adding cross burnings and mass marches in an attempt to intimidate others.
