I met Holt when I was 11 years old. We were friends for many years. He joined the Marines at age 17 and went to Viet Nam. We wrote all of the time and he came to see me a couple of time while on leave. The last time I saw him he had asked me to marry him. He was killed in a car wreck on his way back to the base. I did not hear of his death until a couple of months later. His brother Stewart or Sal called and told me. He just had me listed as Sniffles in his address book which was a nick name he gave me as a child. He was a gentle, sweet caring man.
