He was in a relationship with Sarah (Wenmouth) Miskin, and had children Charles Henry Miskin, Ernest William Miskin, and Hugh Francis Miskin. Horace Miskin died at age 71 years old on February 3, 1926 in Cheltenham, VIC Australia, and was buried at Creswick Cemetery in Creswick, Hepburn Shire County.
