Horace Hockey of Brunswick Australia was born in 1856 to Emma Ely Hockey and Uriah Hockey. He had siblings Emma Hockey, Horace Hockey, Tom Hockey, George Arthur Hockey, and Frederick Uriah Hockey. He married Sarah Driscoll Hockey, and had children Bertha May Hockey, William Horace Hockey, Horace William Hockey, Alfred Henry Hockey, Alice Maude Hockey, Emma Elizabeth Hockey, Gertrude (Hockey) Jenkins, and Alfred Henry Hockey. Horace Hockey died at age 86 years old on August 10, 1943 in East Brunswick, Victoria, and was buried at Melbourne General Cemetery College Cres, in Parkville, City of Melbourne County, VIC.

Dawson, 156 Blyth-street, East Brunswick, Horace, the dearly beloved husband of Sarah Hockey, and loved fathe of Bertha ( Mrs. W. McKimmie ), Alice ( Mrs. Dawson ), Emma ( Mrs. F. Fontaine ), Gertrude ( Mrs. Jenkins ) and the late William and Alfred. Aged 86 years.
