  • Introduction

    Howard C. Seefeldt, age 90, of rural Tigerton passed away Friday evening, December 22, 2017 at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville. Howard Carl Seefeldt was born on March 17, 1927 in the Town of Wyoming, Waupaca County, to Emil and Phyllis (Nero) Seefeldt. In his early years, Howard worked in the area as a logger for a while and then was employed at Marion Plywood for a few years. He also drove milk truck for Clarence Natzke of Tigerton for some time. Howard was united in marriage on June 13, 1953 to Deloris E. Flater in Manawa. The couple dairy farmed in the Town of Wyoming and the Town of Fairbanks for most of their lives. In 1996 they sold the farm to their oldest son and Howard continued to help out well into his 80’s. Howard was a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock, where he served as an usher and was Church Council President. He was an excellent carpenter and handyman who could fix just about anything. Howard enjoyed collecting, cooking, and selling maple syrup. For many years he also sold Christmas trees. His other interests included deer hunting, trout fishing, and cutting firewood. Howard will be remembered most as a quiet hardworking farmer who was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Deloris; and five children, Douglas (Karin) Seefeldt of Tigerton, Debra Seefeldt of Weston, Dawn (Dennis) Kersten of Tigerton, Delbert (friend Annie Graves) Seefeldt of Tigerton, and Darold (Julie) Seefeldt of Bear Creek. There is one daughter-in-law, Theresa Seefeldt of Clintonville. There are eight grandchildren; Wyatt, Paul, Joshua, Ashley, Nicole, Matthew, Justin, and Jesse. There is one great granddaughter, Hailey. He is further survived by a brother-in-law, Edwin (Kathy) Flater of Manawa, a sister-in-law, Ardella (Arthur) Pethke of Manawa, and many other relatives and friends. Howard is preceded in death by his parents; a son Daniel; a sister Gladys (Edward) Prahl; and three brothers, Harold (Evelyn), Harvey (Rosalie), and Lester (Marie) Seefeldt.
