Ida Mae (Cranmore) Bruseth of Bremerton, Kitsap County, Washington United States was born on November 11, 1932 in Lewellen, Garden County, NE to James Cranmore and Edna Grace (King) Cranmore-Ramsey. She had siblings James Cranmore Jr, Vantella (Cranmore) Tyler, Hazel Agnes (Cranmore) Tyler, and Nellie (Cranmore) Wedler. She married Joe Bruseth on January 26, 1956, and had children Larry Bruseth, Linda Lee (Bruseth) Perrenoud, and LeRoy Gene Bruseth. Ida Bruseth died at age 78 years old on May 16, 2011 in Mount Vernon, Skagit County, WA, and was buried at Grandview Cemetery in Anacortes.

    Ida Mae Bruseth, 78, of Anacortes, Washington died Monday, May 16, 2011 at Mira Vista Care Center in Mount Vernon, Washington. She was born in Lewellen, Nebraska on November 11, 1932, the daughter of James and Edna (King) Cranmore. In 1936 her family left the Nebraska dust bowl and moved to Arlington, WA. Ida Mae lived in Bremerton from 1942-1945 while her parents worked in the Naval shipyards during WWII. She returned to Arlington in 1945 and graduated from Arlington High School in 1951. Ida Mae started dating Joe Bruseth in 1951 and they were married on January 26, 1956. They moved to Anacortes where she was a homemaker and raised their three children, Larry, Linda, and LeRoy Bruseth. Ida Mae loved gardening and working outside, especially with her "pink flowers". She enjoyed selling homemade items and foods at her Christmas Bazaars. Ida Mae kept herself busy helping her family and friends with their home and personal projects. Joe and Ida thoroughly enjoyed dancing. Ida Mae is preceded in death by her parents, and her son, LeRoy, who passed away in August 1990. She is survived by her husband, Joe, of Anacortes; her son, Larry Bruseth, of Sedro-Woolley; her daughter, Linda Bruseth and spouse, Gregg Perrenoud, of Spokane Valley, WA; grandson, Mitchell Ryan Bruseth, of Anacortes; and sisters, Nellie Wedler, of Edmonds, WA and Hazel Tyler, of Yakima, WA. Private family interment will be at Grand View Cemetery in Anacortes. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands. - Published in Skagit Valley Herald Publishing Company on May 31, 2011

It took 20 months of fighting for the Allies to reach the northern borders of Italy.
