She was in a relationship with Liston Spearman, and had children Samuel Liston Spearman, MARYANNE SPEARMAN BURROUGHS, James Henry Spearman, and DORTHY MAE (SPEARMAN) HOLCOMB. Irene Spearman died at age 79 years old on December 8, 1991.

The perfect mother

My grandmother was the most honest and loving woman I had ever met she would go over and beyond for her family some of the grandchildren called her momma because we would hear our parents call her mom so most of us called her mom she raised children most of her life and before she passed away I asked her momma do you regret raising all of us because it wasn't fair you never got to do to much for herself. She looked up at me said Sherry I wouldn't have had it any other way I loved raising yall and I did exactly what I wanted to do. There was nothing better and Don't you ever think I regret any of it . Because I don't and I wouldn't have changed one single thing about any of my life. God had blessed me so very much .
