Isabella (Murray) Cocking was born in 1817 at Roxburgh in Scotland United Kingdom to Andrew Murray and Isabel Cranston, and had siblings William Murray, Robert Murray, and Andrew Murray.. She married Robert Cocking, and they had children Amelia Isabella (Cocking) Laurie and Andrew Cocking. She also married Nehemiah Sharp, and they had children Robert Nehemiah Sharp and William Morgan Sharp. Isabella Cocking died at age 80 years old on November 20, 1898 in Coburg North, VIC Australia, and was buried at Coburg Cemetery in Preston, Darebin City County.

The Argus, Melbourne, Tuesday 22 November 1898. COCKING.- ( nee Sharp ), at her late residence, "Ferniehurst," Spry road, North Coburg, Isabella, beloved wife of the late Robert Cocking, and mother of Robert Sharp and Andrew and Amelia J. Cocking. Aged 81years, a colonist of 59 years. The Coburg Leader, Sat. 26 November, 1898. One of the oldest and most respected inhabitants of Coburg, who has watched the progress of the colony for the past 59 years, in the person of Mrs. Isabella Cocking, ( nee Sharp ), the beloved wife of the late Robert Cocking, passed peacefully away at her residence, Spry's road, Coburg, where she has resided for 51 years. The deceased was 81 years of age, and her remains were interred in the Coburg Cemetery on Tuesday.
