Isabell was born to Helen(McLean) and Oliver Porter Dailey. She had six siblings, Rose, James, Helen, Paula, Barbara and Dorothy. She married Richard Peter Hallahan Sr. in 1951 and had six children: Richard Jr., Kathleen, Joseph, Sean, Michael and Robert. She spend most of her adult life working and advocating for children with special needs. He son Sean contracted meningitis as a child and it left him with brain damage. She cared for him at home and worked feverishly to establish a small pre-school for mentally challenged children in Malden. There are many stories in the local Malden News chronicling her appeal to the city counselors for funding such a school. The school was eventually funded and was named The Robin's Nest Nursery. She was a kind and generous woman that left us far too soon.
