Israel Harlan was born on January 17, 1765 in Chester County, Pennsylvania United States to Thomas Harlan and Mary (Bailey) Harlan. He married Hannah (Webb) Harlan on October 23, 1794 in Kennett Township, Chester County, and had a child Ezekiel Webb Harlan. Israel Harlan died at age 79 years old on April 14, 1844 in Chester County, and was buried in April 1844 at Kennett Friends Burial Ground in Kennett Square.
