I know really nothing about Jack's parents. When I first met Jack, his name was Joel Anthony Whitfield. We first me because we were both in the same nursing program at the Minneapolis Community College and Technical School in 1981, graduating in 1982. Joel and I quickly became friends because out of 125 nursing students, there were only 3 males, and one of them dropped out of the program, so it was just Joel and me. After graduating Joel worked several years in Minneapolis. In fact, we both were employed at the same facility for a while, Ebenezer Caroline Center. Joel moved back to Pasadena around 1985, while I moved back to San Diego. I visited Jack once while he was living in Pasadena. In 1989, I moved back to Minneapolis. I hadn't heard from Joel since I saw him in Pasadena. We happened to run into each other by accident at the Methodist Walker Care Center in Minneapolis, around 1996. We saw each other occasionally until we lost contact around 2000. It would seem that Joel returned to California a couple years before his death.

Jack was African American. He spent and worked most of his time between Southern California and Minneapolis, MN. He worked several years at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center. He later moved to Minneapolis and went to school for nursing (LPN). He worked several years in Minneapolis and then moved back to Pasadena for several years. Once again, he moved to Minneapolis, only to return to Southern California somewhere around 2000.

I'm unsure of where Jack went to High School, but he attended the Minneapolis Community College and Technical School graduating in 1982 with an LPN diploma in Nursing.

Jack started out as a Nursing Assistant, and then went to an LPN program in Minneapolis, MN graduating in 1982.
