Jacob Glasko 1750 - 1824

James Glasko was born in 1750 at rhode island to Isaac Glasko and Jennie Glasko, and had siblings Zilpha Glasko, Jepe Glasko, and Mary Glasko. He married Elizabeth Dailey. He also married Martha Glasko, and they had children Isaac C. Glasko, George Glasko, and Jacob Glasko Jr. James Glasko died at age 74 years old in December 1824 at Griswold, Connecticut.

In 1804, James was 54 years old when on December 2nd, Napoleon was crowned as Emperor of France. It was a spectacular ceremony - even the Pope attended - and Napoleon and Josephine's garments were expensive and lavish. Napoleon lifted the crown to his own head, effectively naming himself Emperor. After the actual coronation, street musicians and peddlers entertained the crowds in the streets.
