Jacob J Brisbine's History: 1977 - 2002

Uncover new discoveries and connections today by sharing about people & moments from yesterday.
  • Introduction

When we think of a genius in an electric wheel chair we think of two people... one we all know is Stephan Hawking, the other is Jacob Jefferson Brisbine. A lively young boy from Wenatchee Washington that caught the attention from the community from a young boy doing his thumbs up in a Bultaco T-shirt or perhaps known later for his leather pants. We thought of him a lot like a 2nd Jim Morrison when he was a Sophomore in high school as the lead singer of Jabberwocky a band that inspired others in the area doing shows at the Barn in East Wenatchee. A true rocker and poet with long curly hair looking stoic in a Led Zeppelin or Metallica or perhaps a Misfits T-shirt. A trials rider and a rebel with a cause. At 17 Jacob was thrown out of a pickup doing 90 down number 2 canyon. He lasted 7 more years as a quadriplegic and lived out his dream to focus on his mind after the loss of his body. He got strait A's and went on to Western Washington University where he majored in Biology with a Minor in Evolutionary psychology. Nearly famous for his paper on the need for Humanity to go to Mars. One might have seen him around the streets of Bellingham with his Wolf Alex loyal by his side. Or perhaps with a rock singer singing on his lap tray at a bar. Or at Bumbershoots in Seattle with people yelling "Timmay!" He loved Math rock. He loved The Ruby Doe and Elliot Smith and Neurosis. And Ween!
