Introduction

Jacob "Jack" Alexander Gerhart, born August 30, 1900 in Philadelphia, PA. He moved across Pennsylvania with his parents, Julius and Katherine, finally settling in Butler County, PA around 1915. He became an amateur boxer, married, had 2 children and then disappeared. The last his family heard from him was in October 1927 in a letter he sent to his wife from Detroit, Michigan. As a genealogist, he is my most frustrating brick wall.
