Jacqueline Theresia Vermeulen One of God's Most Precious Flowers Feb 25, 1925 -July 16, 2011 ~ Jacqueline was born in Vught, Netherlands, the 3rd of 8 children. When she met William Vermeulen in 1947, it was love at first sight. They married in 1949 and immigrated to America in June, 1952 searching for opportunities for their new daughter. They settled in Washington State and raised their 3 children in Seattle and Redmond. After retiring, they settled in Southern California with their eldest daughter. They enjoyed 14 years of adventures, travels, and a serene home life before their health turned frail. Jacqueline passed away peacefully in Orange, California. Jacqueline blessed this world with patience, compassion, and grace. She learned patience as a teen when she helped raise her siblings after her father passed away. She learned compassion as she smuggled bread to the prisoners in a concentration camp during WWII. She was born with grace and displayed it all her life to all that she met. Her unselfish ways and moral values were passed on to her family through her daily examples. Her beautiful smile and twinkling eyes welcomed everyone into her life. Her family and friends always knew there would be fresh chocolate chip cookies waiting for them when they visited. We were all fortunate to share her wonderful life with her. Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 61 years, William Vermeulen, daughter, Elizabeth Corbett and her husband, Lloyd Corbett, son, Jack Vermeulen and his wife, Cynthia Vermeulen, daughter, Janet White and her husband, Brandon White, her 7 beloved grandchildren, Tommy and Sean Corbett, Jennifer, Joshua and Jared Vermeulen, and Daniel and Alex White. Her 6 great grandchildren will grow up with stories of their amazing "Oma".
