Jake Geordon was born to N. S. "Jake" Lackey and Callie Jane Smart. He was raised by Callie Jane and her 3rd husband, Houston Galveston Gordon. Jake appears in the 1920 and 1930 US census records as Jake Gordon. He apparently was either adopted by HG Gordon or he took on his last name using a variation of the spelling. His military records all use the name Geordon.
