    James Roy (Jim) was an employee of Southwestern Bell in Houston Texas. He was the second of 7 children born to Lorene and Douglas Bellamy. He graduated M.B.Smiley High School in Houston Texas in 1963. He was the husband of Pamela Jouette Koehler Bellamy at the time of his demise. He was the father of 4 children that he loved dearly, Bryan Davis Bellamy, Fonda Elizabeth, Ernest Adrian Koehler and his precious 3 month old daughter Jamie ivette-michelle Bellamy(Nash). He also owned a roofing company. Jim grew up in church and was a member of Little Rock Baptist Church where his father was a deacon. He was preceded in death by his younger sister Jane Bellamy. He loved cigars, cars, his children and his wife Pam. He was buried at his request in Butter Cemetery in Forest Hill Louisiana along with Pamela's many family members and where Pamela will one day be buried as well.

    Jim was killed in a car wreck along with John Eddie Maxwell by a drunk 17year old driver. He left 4 children, Bryan, Fonda, Ernie and Jamie and his wife Pamela G. Jouette Bellamy.

In 1944, in the year that James Bellamy was born, on June 22nd, the Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1944, called the G.I. Bill, was signed into law, pushed through by the veteran's organizations. Benefits provided for veterans to return to school (high school, vocational school, or college), obtain low interest home mortgages and low interest business loans, and (if needed) one year of unemployment insurance. Since most returning vets immediately found work, less than 20% of the unemployment benefits were distributed.
