He married Emma Frances (Giddings) Haggett, and they were married until James' death on August 12, 1972. He had children Edward John Haggett, James H Hagget, Kenneth B Hagget, Nancy (Hagget) Remick, and Sharon Hill-Stamp. James Hagget was buried circa August 1972 at New North Pembroke Cemetery in Pembroke, Merrimack County, NH.
