    James was born in Dalkeith, Edinburgh in 1881.Father James Crichton (b) 1862 and Mother Mary Lynch (b) 1863. He married Catherine Stafford in 1899 in Dumfermline. They had 4 daughters; Mary (Molly), Jemima, Christina (Chrissie) and Edith. James died in St Giles hospital, Edinburgh of injuries from German Shell wounds...in a public house on Cowgate, Edinburgh. He was GNR 6518 in the 6th Div Ammunition col. He served time in France 1914-1915
