  • Introduction

    The Argus, Melbourne. 2nd November 1901. Information was given to the police that a labouring man, names James Dowling, of Ivy-street, Brunswick, was drowned In the Moonee Ponds Creek. Sergeant Grant, of Moonee Ponds recovered the body yesterday, and removed it to the Morgue. The Bendigo Advertiser. Vic. 6th November 1901. - DROWNED. The acting district coroner, Mr. Dickson, investigated two cases of drowning to-day. The first was that of James Dowling, 49 years of age, a laborer in the employ of the Metropolitan Board of Works. Deceased had been drinking, and fell into a creek. A verdict of found drowned was returned.
