James Franklin Jumper, Jr 1915 - 1996

James Franklin Jumper Jr of Springfield, Orangeburg County, South Carolina United States was born on October 28, 1915 in Springfield to James Franklin Jumper Sr. and Lucille Narcissus Odom Jumper. He had siblings Sarah Hayne Jumper Herring, Ora Jumper O'Farrell, William Henry Jumper, and Roy Eulis Jumper. James was baptized circa 1963 at Springfield Baptist Church in Springfield. He married Edna Maude Hair Jumper, and had children James Franklin Jumper III, William Scott Jumper, George Marshall Jumper, and Edna Hayne Jumper. James Jumper died at age 80 years old on July 8, 1996 in Charleston, Charleston County, and was buried circa July 1996 at Springfield Cemetery in Springfield, Orangeburg County.

In 1915, in the year that James Franklin Jumper, Jr was born, Audrey Munson, playing a model for a sculptor in the film "Inspiration", became the first actress to shed her clothes on screen. Fearing that banning the film would mean that censors would also have to "ban Renaissance art" the film was released, with Munson in the nude scenes and a stand-in doing the acting. (Munson had previously been "America's First Supermodel" and posed nude as the model for many famous artworks.) The film was a hit with audiences.

In 1939, by the time he was 24 years old, in May, Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length animated film, reached a total international gross of $6.5 million which made it (to then) the most successful sound film of all time. First released in December 1937, it was originally dubbed "Disney's Folly" but the premiere received a standing ovation from the audience. At the 11th Academy Awards in February 1939, Walt Disney won an Academy Honorary Award - a full-size Oscar statuette and seven miniature ones - for Snow White.
