    "James G. "Jim" Connor March 3, 1926-Oct. 21, 2002 HERMISTON — James G. "Jim" Connor died Monday, Oct. 21, at his home in Hermiston at the age of 76. He was born on March 3, 1926, in Wolbach, Neb., to James and Phoebe Thayer Connor. He lived in Nebraska until the age of 11 and then spent time in many parts of the United States. He joined the United States Navy and served on the U.S. FFG Santa Fe during World War II. Jim worked in construction for a time and went to school in the evenings to become an electrician. Jim married Donna Logan on Nov. 8, 1969, in Hermiston. He later worked as an electrician for the Bonneville Power Administration. He co-owned Oregon Trail Mobile Homes from 1978 until 1991, and then owned 60 Minute Photo shops in Oregon, Idaho and Washington. Jim then founded Tri-State and Mid-Columbia Mobile Homes in Kennewick and Pasco, Wash., and Milton-Freewater, La Grande and Hermiston. He enjoyed traveling, being around people and, most of all, giving advice and lectures to his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Donna Connor of Hermiston; son, Michael Logan of Hermiston; daughters, Janice Lundin and Sandra Connor, both of Phoenix, Ariz., Valerie Blade of Hermiston, Merry Pickering and Linda Cullers, both of Phoenix, Debra Logan of Hermiston and Penny Johnson of Phoenix; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William D. Connor; and sister, Hazel Connor. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery. Those who wish may make contributions in Jim's memory to Pet Rescue, American Cancer Society or a charity of choice in care of Burns Mortuary of Hermiston at P.O. Box 289, Hermiston, Ore., 97838.
