James Gibson c. 1889 - c. 1914

James Gibson was born in 1889 at Scotland in Maybole, Aryshire County to Janet McCrindle and Archibald Gibson. She married Annie Boyle Kilday, and had a child Catherine Gibson. James Gibson died at age 24 years old in 1914 at Gallipoli in Gallipoli Turkey, and was buried at '4737' Franvillers Communal Cemetery Extension in Scotland.

  • Introduction

    James Gibson is mt Grandfather he was born in Maybole Ayrshire Scotland about 1886-89. somewhere in time he was taken to Greenock where he was raised . He met Annie Boyle (Kilday ) they married and begot my mother Catherine Gibson James was in the Argyll and Sutherland during ww1. In april 1914 he was transferred to Gallipoli and never returned . One year later In June -1915 an army personnel arrived at my Grandmothers door to report that he was missing in action James mother was Janet McCrindle and father Archibald Gibson I believe came from Ayrshire. Janet McCrindle's father was Andrew or William McCrindle her mother Janet Willock ( Wilox) both from Aryshire . Janet McCrindle was born in New-castle upon-Tyne about 1861 her father and mother travelled from Scotland to England where she was born but some time later the family travelled back to Scotland
