Always bucked hay and whatever else the local farmers needed for income growing up as well. Had worked part time at Wendy's, worked at the Buckhorn rubber factory, Golden Road Productions, Hannibal Industrial Painting, Haynes Construction and Martins Construction. Jay was known for being a quick learner and one of the hardest workers in the area
