    Whilst the story of James 'Jim' Freyne is being uncovered we know from Red Cross documents that witness saw him 'destroyed by a shell' in battle and they 'buried the remains near the pitts, it is well known'. These are most likely near the site of the 2nd line of German defenses between Bullecourt and Renecourt to the north of the road connecting the two today . .
