James Joseph Venham of Mira Loma, Riverside County, California was born on August 14, 1941 to Fred Leland Venham and Wanda Marie Venham. He had a sister Francine Venham. He married Monica Marie Venham and they later divorced. He had children Jimmy Venham, Mark William Venham, Holly Marie Venham, and Darrell Dean Venham. James Venham died at age 66 years old on January 30, 2008.

In 1941, in the year that James Joseph Venham was born, on June 25th, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 8802, prohibiting racial discrimination in the defense industry. EO 8802 was the first federal action to prohibit employment discrimination - without prejudice as to "race, creed, color, or national origin" - in the U.S. Civil Rights groups had planned a march on Washington D.C. to protest for equal rights but with the signing of the Order, they canceled the March.
