James T Gilligan's History: 1945 - 2006

Uncover new discoveries and connections today by sharing about people & moments from yesterday.
  • Introduction

I went to school with Mr. Gilligan ("Jimma") for six years at St. Edward's Seminary in Kenmore, Washington, between the years 1959-1965. We shared a unique semi-monastic experience together -- studying, praying, eating, living together. It was a life we can't really share with anybody else other than each other, and I was hoping to do that next summer with Jim at a 50-55 year reunion at the seminary where we once lived. Jim's passing is a blow to me and a reminder of how ephemeral life is. I am sad I won't get to see him again until the next life. If he had the same playful sense of humor with you as I remember he had with his highschool-college mates then you must miss him dearly still. God bless you. P,S. As I recall, Jim had an older brother Charley, who also went to the seminary. Both guys were strong athletes. Sincerely, Steve Lequire
