Obituary

My father was born in the Powiat of Woltyn in the city of Krzemieniec. At that time Woltyn was a part of poland of which the popukation was about 19% Polish and the rest were Ukranian Russian and Jewish. He used to light stoves on holidays. He graduated fomr Liceum of Krzemieniec and became a teacher, that was fluent in 5 languages Polish, Ukranian, Russian, French and later English. When we came to the USA he changed his profession and became a photographer for Chase manhattan bank. His photographs were exibited in the Grand Centeral Terminal. Being a teacher he taught Polish kids history and the polish language Probono in Greenpoint. Upon his retirment the solidarity movement exploded and being a patriot that previously voulenteered on a suiside mission agaist the Germans, it was to help this movement to free Poland. As a member of Kosciusczko Foundaton and Palaski foundation and others he organized protests by working the phones. Upon his death in the funeral parlor two men came to me that spoke machine langauge Polish to thank me from the Pulaski foundation that foundation to thank me on his behaf that he never quit even if it seemed hopeless and kept going .
